Jennifer Riddle truly loves what she does. A decade ago, a relative offered her a path out of her small Louisiana hometown by inviting her to manage condos in converted historic warehouses. Thus began her appreciation for historic buildings. She also had the opportunity to participate in a few sales, and realized that the work of educating and advocating for clients was the perfect channel for her professional passions. Jennifer is now celebrating five years in San Francisco real estate, and 13 years in the business overall, grateful for the chance to have assisted many buyers and sellers along the way.

Jennifer’s clients appreciate her nurturing presence.  In a past life, she explored a career in nursing, and the calm and steady way she can take charge of an emergent situation has not changed.  Jennifer is skilled at explaining all the processes involved in a transaction, especially to clients experiencing them for the first time, and works hard to be sure her clients feel confident at every juncture.  Assisting seasoned buyers and sellers, who have returned to Jennifer as their lives evolved, is equally rewarding.

In a city where historic homes abound, Jennifer’s knack for explaining both the joys and the challenges of owning these properties comes in handy.  She has helped clients plan interiors and carry out renovations around the city, and loves working on her own “Big Red House,” an 1879 Italianate in Eureka Valley.  Jennifer is among the passionate members of the Old House Society of San Francisco, which seeks to democratize knowledge and share resources for the good of all who love these eclectic buildings and their stories.

When she can tear herself away from wallpapering and sanding, Jennifer loves gardening and will take any and all advice for growing tomatoes.  Her partners in writing the next chapters of the Big Red House’s history are her husband Garret and their toothy Doberman, Bruce.  Jennifer is a proud Louisiana native who left a bit of her heart in New Orleans.  In addition to her preservation work, Jennifer advocates for recycling and sustainable building materials.
